Conics

Conics are the curves formed by slicing a cone with a flat plane at different angles. The main types are circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas, each with distinct shapes. Circles are perfect round shapes, ellipses are elongated circles, parabolas have a U-shape, and hyperbolas consist of two curves opening in opposite directions. Conics are fundamental in mathematics and physics because they describe orbits, lenses, and arches. Their properties depend on the angle and position of the plane cut relative to the cone, making them essential for understanding geometry and designing various engineering and scientific applications.
