Congressional Districts

Congressional districts are specific geographic areas within a state that elect representatives to the U.S. House of Representatives. Each state is divided into these districts, with the total number of districts across the country being 435. The boundaries of each district are determined by state legislatures and can change every ten years after the national census to reflect population shifts. This process ensures that each district has roughly equal population, allowing for fair representation in Congress. Voters in each district choose their representative during elections, who advocates for their interests at the federal level.
