Congreso de Tacna

The Congreso de Tacna was an international conference held in 1925 to resolve the dispute over the city of Tacna, which Peru and Chile both claimed after the War of the Pacific. The conference, organized under the auspices of the League of Nations, resulted in Tacna being officially returned to Peru, while the port of Arica was awarded to Chile. The agreement aimed to peacefully settle territorial disagreements, restore stability, and foster diplomatic relations between the two nations. It marked an important moment in Latin American diplomacy and conflict resolution in the early 20th century.
