Congregation of the Oratory
The Congregation of the Oratory is a Roman Catholic community founded in 1575 by St. Philip Neri. It consists of priests and laypeople dedicated to living and promoting a devout, joyful Catholic life through prayer, education, and service. Members are organized into independent but spiritually united communities that emphasize a balanced life of contemplation and active service. Unlike monastic orders, oratories do not require monks to live apart from the world; instead, they focus on engaging with communities, fostering faith, and encouraging spiritual growth within society.
