congenital hip dislocation
Congenital hip dislocation occurs when a baby’s hip joint doesn’t develop properly before birth. Normally, the head of the thigh bone fits snugly into the hip socket. In this condition, the ball of the thigh bone may be partially or completely out of its socket, or the socket may be shallow, making the joint unstable. This can lead to difficulty walking, leg length differences, or hip pain if untreated. Early diagnosis and treatment, such as bracing or gentle manipulation, can often correct the problem and promote normal hip development.
