Congenital Aniridia
Congenital aniridia is a rare condition present at birth where the iris—the colored part of the eye—is incomplete or absent. This affects how much light enters the eye, often leading to vision problems like glare and sensitivity to bright light. Aniridia can also be associated with other eye issues, such as cataracts, glaucoma, and problems with the retina, which may impact vision more severely. It is often caused by genetic mutations and typically affects both eyes. While there is no cure, managing eye health and regular check-ups can help prevent or address complications.
