Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE)

The Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) was a diplomatic initiative established in the 1970s to promote peace, security, and cooperation among European countries, along with the United States and Canada. It aimed to address issues like human rights, arms control, and economic collaboration during the Cold War era. The CSCE led to the creation of important agreements, such as the Helsinki Final Act in 1975, which emphasized the need for sovereign equality, non-interference, and respect for human rights. Eventually, it evolved into the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which continues to operate today.
