Confederate sympathizer

A Confederate sympathizer is someone who supports or agrees with the beliefs and causes of the Confederacy during the American Civil War (1861-1865). The Confederacy was made up of Southern states that seceded from the United States mainly to uphold slavery and maintain states' rights. Sympathizers may have shared their views or supported their efforts, even if they did not serve in the military.
