Confederación Argentina

Confederación Argentina was a political entity established in 1831 after the collapse of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata. It represented a loose alliance of Argentine provinces seeking regional autonomy while avoiding centralized control from Buenos Aires. Led by Justo José de Urquiza, the Confederation prioritized provincial interests and decentralized governance. It existed until 1862, when it was replaced by the Argentine Republic, unifying the country under a centralized federal government. The Confederación played a key role in Argentina’s early nation-building, balancing regional independence with national unity during a formative period.
