Conditional Access System (CAS)
A Conditional Access System (CAS) is a technology used by broadcasters and service providers to control and restrict access to digital TV content. It encrypts the signal so only authorized viewers with a valid subscription or decryption key can view the channels. When a viewer subscribes, their receiver gets a unique key, allowing it to decrypt and display the content. This system helps content providers prevent unauthorized viewing or piracy, ensuring that only paying customers can access the premium content they pay for.
