Concordism

Concordism is the approach of interpreting religious texts, particularly the Bible, in a way that seeks to align or harmonize them with scientific knowledge or historical facts. Proponents believe that the scriptures contain truths that are compatible with, or support, scientific understanding, and often try to read these texts in a literal or semi-literal way to demonstrate consistency between faith and science. Critics argue this method can lead to forcing biblical passages to fit scientific theories, sometimes at the expense of textual or contextual accuracy. It reflects an effort to see divine revelation and human knowledge as mutually supportive.
