Concorde Accident (1996)
The 1996 Concorde accident occurred when Air France Flight 4590, a supersonic passenger aircraft, crashed shortly after takeoff from Paris, killing all 109 people onboard and four on the ground. The crash was caused by a titanium alloy part on a departing aircraft that fell onto the runway, leading to a tire rupture. Debris from the tire damaged the left engine and fuel system, causing a fire and loss of control. The accident highlighted the importance of runway safety and maintenance for high-performance aircraft like the Concorde.
