Conceptual primitivism

Conceptual primitivism is the philosophical view that some basic concepts or ideas are foundational and cannot be broken down into simpler parts. Think of these as the fundamental building blocks of understanding that we must accept as given because they serve as the starting points for reasoning about more complex ideas. For example, concepts like "cause" or "truth" are often considered primitive because they are so fundamental that attempts to define them would be circular or unhelpful. This view helps clarify how we build knowledge, acknowledging that some concepts are basic, necessary assumptions in our thinking.
