Compressive sensing
Compressive sensing is a technique for efficiently capturing and reconstructing signals or images by taking fewer measurements than traditional methods require. It leverages the idea that many signals are inherently sparse, meaning they contain mostly zero or negligible components in some form. By carefully designing the measurement process, it’s possible to recover the original signal accurately from surprisingly small data samples. This approach reduces data acquisition time and storage needs, and is useful in applications like medical imaging, photography, and wireless communication. Essentially, it allows us to see and understand complex information with less effort and data.
