Compression Fracture

A compression fracture occurs when the bone in the spine, called a vertebra, collapses or becomes compressed, often due to weakening from osteoporosis or sudden trauma. This results in a shorter, compressed vertebra, which can cause back pain, loss of height, or spinal deformity. The fracture may occur from a minor injury or even daily activities if the bones are fragile. Treatment varies from rest and pain management to more advanced procedures, depending on severity. It’s important to address underlying bone health to prevent future fractures.
