Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration Program

The Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration Program (CSRDP) was initiated by the U.S. government to improve schools by implementing evidence-based reforms. Launched in 1997, it provided funding to schools to adopt comprehensive strategies aimed at boosting student achievement, especially in low-income areas. Schools could choose from various models focusing on different aspects, such as curriculum, professional development, and community involvement. The goal was to create sustainable changes that enhance educational outcomes and support the needs of all students, ultimately fostering a more effective and equitable education system.
