Composting methods

Composting is the process of naturally breaking down organic waste into nutrient-rich soil. Common methods include backyard composting, where kitchen scraps and yard waste are layered and managed to promote decomposition; and worm composting (vermicomposting), where worms help turn organic matter into compost in a controlled bin. Aerobic composting requires oxygen, moisture, and warmth to facilitate microbial activity. In-vessel or tumbling composters are enclosed systems that speed up the process. All methods aim to recycle organic materials into useful compost, reducing waste and enhancing soil health for gardening or landscaping.
