Composite Grafting
Composite grafting is a surgical technique used to repair or restore damaged tissue by transferring a combined tissue unit—typically skin, cartilage, and sometimes other tissues—from one part of the body to another. The transferred tissue, called a composite graft, relies on the healthy tissue on its edges to supply nutrients and keep it alive during the initial healing phase. This method is often used for reconstructing complex defects on the nose, ear, or small facial areas, providing both functional and aesthetic restoration. Successful outcome depends on proper graft size, placement, and blood supply.
