Complicity
Complicity refers to involvement in or facilitation of a wrongful act, often a crime, through assisting, encouraging, or enabling the main offender. It means being linked to illegal or unethical behavior by helping or supporting the person committing it, even if you are not the primary actor. For example, providing tools, information, or reassurance that makes the crime easier to commit can establish complicity. Legally, a person can be held responsible for complicity if they knowingly aid or abet in the unlawful act, making them morally and legally accountable alongside the principal offender.
