Competitive powerlifting
Competitive powerlifting is a strength sport focused on three main lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Athletes aim to lift the maximum weight possible for each lift in a single controlled attempt. Competitions are divided by weight class and age, with performers judged on proper technique and adherence to rules. The athlete’s combined best lifts determine their total score, and winners are crowned based on the highest totals within their category. Powerlifting emphasizes strength, discipline, and proper training to safely push the limits of muscular capacity.
