Competition Commission (UK)
The Competition Commission (UK) was an organization responsible for reviewing and promoting competition in various markets to protect consumers and ensure fair business practices. It investigated mergers, market behaviors, and anti-competitive practices to prevent monopolies and promote healthy competition among companies. Established in 2003, it aimed to enhance consumer choice, lower prices, and improve quality of goods and services. In 2014, it was replaced by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which continues to uphold these principles in the UK economy.
