Compartmental models
Compartmental models are a way to understand how something spreads or moves through a system by dividing it into different sections, or “compartments.” For example, in epidemiology, populations are often divided into compartments like susceptible, infected, and recovered. The model uses mathematical equations to show how individuals move between compartments over time, helping us predict and analyze trends. These models are useful for studying diseases, information flow, or resource distribution, offering a structured way to simulate complex processes and develop effective strategies.
