Community of Inquiry model

The Community of Inquiry model explains how meaningful learning happens through active engagement in an online or educational setting. It involves three key elements: social presence (students feel comfortable sharing and collaborating), cognitive presence (deep thinking and understanding), and teaching presence (guidance and facilitation by instructors). When these elements work together, they create a supportive environment where learners can connect, challenge ideas, and construct knowledge effectively. This model highlights that effective learning isn’t just about accessing information but about dynamic interaction and shared understanding within a community.
