Community of Inquiry (CoI) Framework

The Community of Inquiry (CoI) Framework is a model that explains how online learning experiences become meaningful through three key elements: social presence (students feel they are part of a community), cognitive presence (students engage in thoughtful, reflective thinking), and teaching presence (instructors facilitate and guide learning). When these elements work together, they create a supportive environment that promotes deep understanding and active participation. Essentially, CoI shows how online learners can collaborate, communicate, and think critically to achieve educational goals effectively.
