Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act
The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act was a proposed U.S. federal program aimed at providing affordable, long-term care insurance for working Americans. It was designed to help cover services for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions, enabling them to receive care in their homes or community settings rather than institutional settings. Participants would contribute through payroll deductions, and in return, they could access benefits if they needed long-term care. Although authorized by the Affordable Care Act in 2010, the CLASS Act was later suspended and ultimately not implemented due to financial and logistical concerns.
