community choice aggregators

Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) are local programs that allow communities to choose their own electricity providers instead of relying solely on the traditional utility. They typically purchase and supply cleaner or more affordable energy on behalf of residents and businesses. CCAs enable communities to have greater control over their energy sources, promote renewable energy adoption, and potentially reduce costs, while still maintaining connection to the existing power grid. They work collaboratively with existing utilities by purchasing energy separately but distributing it through the same infrastructure.
