Communitarianism

Communitarianism, in political philosophy, emphasizes the connection between the individual and the community. While still valuing individual rights, it suggests these cannot be completely separated from societal context. It proposes that community standards and traditions should often guide decision making, and not only personal views. In essence, it's a balance between individual freedom and the common good. Ultimately, communitarianism fosters shared values, community responsibility and a holistic perspective, appreciating all participants in society.
