Commonwealth of Two Nations
The Commonwealth of Two Nations was a political union formed in 1964 between the independent states of India and Pakistan, aiming to unify their economies and governance. It was a unique arrangement that recognized their shared history and cultural ties while allowing them to maintain separate sovereignty. This collaboration sought to foster cooperation in trade, defense, and diplomatic relations during a period of post-independence nation-building. The union lasted until 1971 when Pakistan's eastern region (East Pakistan) became Bangladesh, and the two countries went their separate ways, ending the Commonwealth of Two Nations.
