Commons vs. Lords
The House of Commons and the House of Lords are the two parts of the UK Parliament. The Commons is made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) elected by the public, and it is primarily responsible for making and passing laws, representing voters, and controlling government spending. The Lords is made up of appointed, hereditary, and spiritual members who review and suggest amendments to legislation passed by the Commons. While the Commons has the final say on most issues, the Lords acts as a revising chamber, providing expertise and scrutiny to ensure laws are well-considered.
