Commonhold

Commonhold is a propertyownership structure where individuals own their specific unit (like an apartment) outright and share ownership and responsibility for common areas, such as hallways, gardens, or lifts, with other owners. Instead of leasing or renting, owners have a permanent, freehold interest in their unit, while collectively managing shared spaces through a commonhold organization or company. This arrangement allows for clearer, long-term control and decision-making over the building’s upkeep and rules, promoting stability and shared responsibility among property owners.
