Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS)
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) was an independent advisory body established in 2009 to enhance banking supervision across the European Union. It aimed to ensure consistent banking regulations and oversight among member states, promoting stability and trust in the banking sector. CEBS worked to harmonize practices, coordinate responses to financial challenges, and provide guidance on banking regulations. It played a crucial role in the development of a unified approach to financial supervision, particularly important during times of economic uncertainty. In 2011, CEBS was succeeded by the European Banking Authority (EBA).
