Committee of European Banking Supervisors
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) was an organization comprising banking regulators from across Europe. Its main role was to coordinate and promote consistent banking supervision practices among countries, ensuring that banks operate safely and soundly within the European Union. By sharing information and developing common standards, CEBS aimed to strengthen the stability of the financial system and prevent banking crises. In 2011, it was replaced by the European Banking Authority (EBA), which now oversees banking regulation and supervision across Europe.
