Command and Data Handling
Command and Data Handling (C&DH) is the system responsible for managing communication between a spacecraft and its operators. It handles sending command instructions from ground stations to control the spacecraft and receiving data, such as scientific measurements and system health, back. This system ensures that commands are executed accurately and efficiently, and that collected data is stored and transmitted properly. In essence, C&DH acts as the spacecraft’s central nervous system, coordinating command execution and data management to keep all onboard systems functioning smoothly and to relay essential information to Earth experts.
