Comisión Fallera

Comisión Fallera is the local organization responsible for coordinating and managing the annual Fallas festival in Valencia, Spain. It comprises neighborhood groups, or “comisiones,” that oversee the creation, display, and burning of elaborate cardboard and papier-mâché sculptures called “fallas.” These commissions handle logistics, funding, and cultural activities, ensuring the event reflects local traditions and community participation. Essentially, they are the organizational backbone of the festival, fostering community involvement and preserving its heritage through planning and executing the festivities that culminate with the burning of the fallas.
