Combitube

The Combitube is a medical device used to secure a person's airway in emergency situations when they cannot breathe or be properly ventilated. It’s a dual-lumen tube inserted into the throat through the mouth, designed to fit either into the windpipe (trachea) or the foodpipe (esophagus), enabling airflow regardless of placement. Once inserted, it ensures oxygen can reach the lungs, allowing healthcare providers to provide effective ventilation until normal breathing can be restored or advanced airway management is possible. The Combitube helps prevent suffocation in emergency scenarios where quick airway support is critical.
