Colorado Labor Wars
The Colorado Labor Wars (1903-1904) were a series of conflicts between immigrant miners and industrial companies over working conditions, pay, and union rights. Miners, seeking better treatment, organized strikes and union activities, leading employers to bring in Pinkerton detectives and state troops to suppress protests. The clashes resulted in violence, injuries, and deaths, highlighting tensions between labor and capital during rapid industrialization. These events underscored the struggles of workers fighting for fair treatment amidst powerful corporations seeking to control labor.
