color vision theory

Color vision theory explains how our eyes and brain work together to perceive colors. Our eyes have specialized cells called cones that detect different types of light: one type sensitive to red, another to green, and a third to blue. The brain combines signals from these cones to produce the full spectrum of colors we see. This mechanism is called the trichromatic theory. Additionally, the opponent-process theory suggests that our visual system processes colors in pairs (like red-green or blue-yellow) to enhance color discrimination. Together, these theories provide a comprehensive understanding of human color perception.
