Color vision deficiency

Color vision deficiency, commonly called color blindness, is a condition where the eyes can't distinguish certain colors accurately. It usually occurs because the cone cells in the retina, responsible for detecting specific colors, don't function or are missing. The most common type affects the ability to see reds and greens clearly. It’s a genetic condition, often present from birth, but can also result from eye injuries or health issues. While it doesn't impact overall vision sharpness, it can make color-based tasks more challenging. Most people adapt well and lead normal lives despite these differences in color perception.
