color determination

Color determination involves how our eyes interpret light reflected off objects. Objects have specific wavelengths of light they reflect; for example, a red apple reflects mostly red wavelengths. Our eyes detect these wavelengths with cells called cones, which are sensitive to different colors (red, green, blue). The brain then combines signals from these cones to perceive a particular color. Factors like lighting conditions and surrounding colors can influence perception, but fundamentally, color results from the specific wavelengths of light an object reflects and how our visual system processes them.
