Colonoscopy Imaging

Colonoscopy imaging is a medical procedure used to examine the inside of the colon (large intestine) and rectum. A thin, flexible tube called a colonoscope is inserted through the anus and guided through the colon. The colonoscope has a small camera, allowing doctors to see images of the intestinal lining on a monitor. This procedure helps detect abnormalities, such as polyps or signs of cancer, and can also facilitate biopsies (tissue sampling). It's commonly used for screening and diagnosing gastrointestinal issues, contributing to early detection and improved treatment outcomes.
