Colon Polyp

A colon polyp is a small growth that forms on the inner lining of the colon or rectum. Most polyps are benign (non-cancerous), but some can develop into colon cancer over time. They are often found during routine screening, such as a colonoscopy. Polyps vary in size and shape, and their detection and removal can prevent the progression to cancer. While many do not cause symptoms, larger or certain types may lead to bleeding or changes in bowel habits. Regular screening is important for early identification and management of colon polyps.
