Colloidal suspensions
A colloidal suspension is a mixture where tiny particles, larger than molecules but too small to see individually, are evenly dispersed throughout a fluid (liquid or gas). These particles stay suspended and do not settle quickly due to their small size and interactions with the surrounding medium. Colloids are common in everyday life, such as milk (fat particles in water), fog (water droplets in air), or paint (pigment particles in liquid). Their stability depends on forces between particles, preventing them from clumping or separating over time.
