Collingwood-class battleship
The Collingwood-class battleships were a group of six British warships built in the late 1910s, designed for naval dominance during World War I. They featured large guns for powerful shellfire and thick armor for protection, with a displacement of about 16,000 tons and speeds reaching around 21 knots. These ships were part of the Royal Navy's efforts to maintain control of the seas, serving primarily in patrols and fleet actions. Although their active combat role was limited by the end of WWI, they represented the technological and strategic standards of early 20th-century battleship design.
