Cold War Tactics

Cold War tactics involved strategies used by the U.S. and the Soviet Union to compete without direct military conflict. They employed espionage (spying), propaganda, and technological competition, like the space race, to influence global opinion and position. They formed alliances such as NATO and the Warsaw Pact to strengthen their spheres of influence. Economic pressures, covert operations, and diplomatic negotiations were also key tools. The goal was to demonstrate strength and win influence worldwide while avoiding open warfare, which could lead to destructive conflicts like nuclear war.
