Cold War Strategy
Cold War strategy involved two superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union, competing for global influence without direct military conflict. Instead, they used tactics like nuclear deterrence, espionage, propaganda, and forming alliances (e.g., NATO and the Warsaw Pact). The goal was to expand each side's political and economic ideals (capitalism vs. communism) while avoiding full-scale war, especially nuclear conflict. The strategy relied heavily on mutual distrust and the threat of devastating retaliation, leading to a tense but stable coexistence known as deterrence.
