Coil Embolization
Coil embolization is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat abnormal blood vessels, such as aneurysms or bleeding vessels. A doctor inserts a thin tube called a catheter through a small incision, guiding it to the affected area using imaging technology. Tiny metal coils are then placed into the vessel or aneurysm, causing blood to clot around them. This blocks blood flow to the problematic area, preventing rupture or bleeding. The procedure reduces risks associated with open surgery, typically results in shorter recovery times, and is effective in managing various vascular conditions.
