Cognitive Internalism

Cognitive internalism is the view that justifications for our beliefs depend entirely on factors accessible to our minds—such as our reasons, reasons we are aware of, or internal mental states. In other words, to be justified in believing something, we need to be able to reflect on and access the reasons for that belief. It emphasizes the importance of internal mental access rather than external factors, like whether the belief is actually true or how the belief came to be formed outside of our awareness.
