Cognitive Autopoiesis
Cognitive autopoiesis refers to the idea that cognitive processes—like thinking, perceiving, and understanding—are self-producing and self-maintaining systems. Similar to living organisms that sustain themselves through internal processes, the mind continuously creates and reorganizes its internal structures in response to external stimuli. This dynamic self-creating activity enables cognition to be adaptive and autonomous, emphasizing that mental functions are ongoing, self-sustaining processes rooted in complex interactions between the brain, body, and environment.
