CODASYL
CODASYL (Conference on Data Systems Languages) was a group that developed a standard for database systems in the 1960s and early 1970s. It introduced the network database model, which organizes data using records and sets of relationships, allowing complex links between pieces of information. This approach helped manage interconnected data efficiently, especially in large, enterprise environments. While modern databases often use relational models, CODASYL's standards laid important groundwork for how databases manage complex relationships and structured data.
