Cochlear Implants for Children

Cochlear implants are medical devices that help children with severe hearing loss or deafness to perceive sound. They work by bypassing damaged parts of the ear and directly stimulating the auditory nerve with electrical signals. The implant consists of an external processor that captures sound, and an internal device implanted under the skin that sends signals to the brain.
